The Complete Toolkit Collection
Five workbooks, one collection. Self-compassion, emotions, worry, burnout and boundaries, written by a Counselling Psychologist in York.
Most of what brings people to therapy comes down to a handful of things. A critical inner voice that never quite lets up. Feelings that arrive faster than you can manage them. A mind that will not stop running through what might go wrong. Running on empty and no longer recovering at weekends. Saying yes when everything in you wants to say no.
These five difficulties overlap far more than people expect. A harsh inner critic erodes the confidence it takes to hold a boundary. Poor boundaries drain the capacity that protects against burnout. Burnout thins the reserves that make emotions manageable. Unmanaged emotion feeds worry, and worry keeps the whole system running hot.
This collection brings together all five of my workbooks. Each one stands on its own, but together they cover the ground that comes up again and again in the therapy room.
Five toolkits. One collection.
Each workbook takes one difficulty and works through it properly: what is happening, why it keeps happening, and what to do differently. They are built on the same clinical models I use in practice, including CFT, CBT, DBT and ACT, translated into exercises you can sit down and complete.
- A critical inner voice that will not let up. Meeting self-criticism with something that works better than fighting it.
- Emotions that overwhelm you. Understanding the cycle, and where you can step into it.
- Worry that will not switch off. Separating solvable problems from unsolvable ones, and building tolerance for not knowing.
- Burnout that rest is not fixing. Assessing where you are, and rebuilding from values rather than willpower.
- Boundaries you cannot hold. Mapping your capacity, and learning to say no without a paragraph of justification.
What is inside
Self-Compassion & Self-Esteem Toolkit
For the voice in your head that never quite lets up. Grounded in compassion-focused therapy and CBT, drawing on Kristin Neff and Paul Gilbert, this workbook meets self-criticism with something that works better than arguing with it.
- The self-compassion break, in full, with the words to use
- Why self-criticism backfires: threat, drive and soothe
- Meeting your inner critic, and what it is protecting
- The compassionate reframe worksheet
- An evidence log for what your critic never counts
- A fillable personal self-compassion plan
Emotion Regulation: A Practical Guide
For when feelings arrive faster than you can think. Grounded in CBT and DBT, this workbook shows you the emotion cycle and the points where you can intervene before it takes over.
- The emotion cycle, with clear intervention points
- An emotion vocabulary grid for naming what you feel
- The TIPP skill from DBT, with a visual guide
- Grounding techniques including 5-4-3-2-1 and box breathing
- A fillable personal regulation plan
Managing Worry: Self-Help Toolkit
Built on the intolerance of uncertainty model, the evidence-based approach to generalised worry. The longest workbook in the collection, because worry rewards careful work.
- A worry diary that sorts Type 1 and Type 2 worry
- A challenge table for beliefs about worrying
- A full intolerance of uncertainty module
- Behavioural experiment records
- Scheduled worry time and a recovery plan
Burnout Recovery Workbook
For the point where rest has stopped working. This workbook helps you see clearly where you are, then rebuild around what matters rather than pushing harder.
- A burnout self-assessment
- A seven day reset plan
- Values clarification exercises
- An energy audit to find what is draining you
The Boundaries Toolkit
Not another reminder to set boundaries. This is the missing part: what to say, and how to hold it when someone pushes back.
- A people-pleasing audit
- A capacity mapping tool
- The four part structure for saying no
- Ready-made scripts for work, family and friends
- A seven day practice plan
Workbooks, not books
There is no shortage of writing that tells you to be kinder to yourself or set better boundaries. Very little of it tells you how. These are working documents: you fill them in, return to them, and build something specific to your own situation.
Every exercise comes from a clinical model with evidence behind it, not from general wellness advice. You can complete them on screen or print them out, whichever suits how you think.
Who this collection is for
- You recognise yourself in more than one of the five areas.
- You are on a waiting list and want to make a start in the meantime.
- You have finished therapy and want structured material to keep the work going.
- You would rather work through something at your own pace, privately.
- You already own one of the toolkits and want the rest.
These workbooks are self-help resources. They are not therapy, and they are not a substitute for it. If you are struggling significantly, please speak with your GP or a qualified professional.

What do I receive when I buy the collection?
Five PDF workbooks, 74 pages in total, delivered instantly through Gumroad after checkout. You can download them straight away and save them to your own device.
Can I print the workbooks?
Yes. Every workbook is designed to work both ways: you can type into the fillable sections on screen, or print them and write by hand.
I already own one of the toolkits. Is it worth buying the collection?
If you own one of the £5.99 workbooks, the collection still costs less than buying the other four separately. If you own one of the £7.99 workbooks, the saving is smaller, so it may be worth buying the remaining toolkits individually. Do get in touch if you are unsure.
Are these workbooks a replacement for therapy?
No. They are structured self-help resources built on evidence-based models, and many people find them useful alongside therapy, before it, or after it. They are not a substitute for individual psychological therapy, and they are not suitable as crisis support.
Who wrote them?
I am Dr Lucy Rymer, an HCPC-Registered Counselling Psychologist and BPS Chartered Psychologist based in York. Every exercise in these workbooks comes from models I use in clinical practice.
Can I work with you directly?
My therapy practice is currently paused while I am on maternity leave, and the waiting list is open for when I return. Clinical supervision enquiries remain open, in person in York or remotely.
